As part of the ACU community, you’ll be able to engage in events and support programs to enrich your university experience. ACU has a wide range of programs designed to increase accessibility and the quality of your tertiary education.

Student Veteran Exercise Lifestyle Program

Run through our Exercise Lifestyle Clinics (ELCs), the Student Veteran Exercise Lifestyle Program provides you, as a student veteran, and your family with access to health and wellness support throughout your study. There is a strong body of evidence indicating how increased physical activity supports both physical and mental health.

Spaces

ACU has created a space exclusively for the veteran students to make use of. This space known colloquially as the ‘Cages’ is decorated by our veteran community and all members are encouraged to add to it.

The Student Veteran Impact Awards

The Student Veteran Impact Awards recognise the positive impact our student veterans make on the ACU community during your time at ACU. The awards represent ACU’s core values of service and the common good. Throughout your study at ACU, you are encouraged to acknowledge your responsibility to the common good, the environment and society. In line with ACU’s mission, identity and values, the Student Veteran Impact Awards celebrate the efforts of student veterans who significantly contribute to the university and the wider community.

Student Veteran Society

The Student Veteran Society is a group formed from the student body of veterans. This society organises charitable fundraising, social events and support for student veterans.

Mentoring

Student veteran-specific mentoring is a program designed to put you in touch with your peers to assist you with the transition into university life. Our mentors are well trained and run engaging and educational events.
