As part of the ACU community, you can engage in events and support programs to enrich your university experience. ACU has a range of programs designed to increase accessibility and the quality of your tertiary education.

The Student Veteran Impact Awards

The Student Veteran Impact Awards recognise the positive impact student veterans can make during your time at ACU. The awards represent ACU's core values of service and the common good. Throughout your study at ACU, you are encouraged to acknowledge your responsibility to the common good, the environment and society. In line with ACU's mission, identity and values, the Student Veteran Impact Awards celebrate the efforts of student veterans who significantly contribute to the university and the wider community.

The Impact Awards Event

The 2025 Student Veteran Impact Awards will be presented at a special lunch on 7 October at ACU Melbourne’s Veterans House, celebrating the achievements of our student veteran community. This includes the prestigious ACU Sir Peter Cosgrove Student Veteran Award, recognising a graduating student veteran's outstanding contribution to the community. That evening, award recipients will attend an intimate dinner at Drake House hosted by the Vice-Chancellor in recognition of their impact and service.

Family events

We understand the importance of family. The support your family can provide during your studies is invaluable. Family days and events give them the opportunity to share in your university experience.

Commemoration events

ACU commemorates important events involving veterans including ANZAC Day and Remembrance Day. In conjunction with Campus Ministry, the Student Veteran Services team organises memorials to recognise these days on campus.

Student Veteran Society

The Student Veteran Society is a group formed from the student body of veterans. This society organises charitable fundraising, social events and support for student veterans.

Student Veteran Peer Engagement Program

The Student Veteran Peer Engagement Program puts you in touch with your peers to assist with transitioning into university life. Our peer facilitators are well trained and run engaging and educational events.
