Aaron Cornwall
Student Veteran Services Manager

Aaron Cornwall currently serves as the Student Veteran Services Manager at ACU. Previously, he served as a combat engineer in the Australian Army. After transitioning from the defence force he worked as a sole trader before stumbling into higher education. Once he commenced his studies, he realised that the Australian Defence Force (ADF) had given him the skills to excel in higher education. Since then, he has completed a Bachelor in Exercise and Sports Science and a Graduate Certificate in Clinical Exercise Rehabilitation. Aaron is now in a rewarding position to support his peers to access, transition to, and succeed in higher education.

Elaine Rotor
Student Veteran Services Liaison

Elaine is one of your Student Veteran Liaisons. She previously served in the Royal Canadian Air Force for eight years as a logistics officer. Her post-military career is focused on community engagement in the not-for-profit, government, and education sectors. She has worked at ACU for four years as a language teacher, and international student adviser, and is now promoting our student veteran programs and supporting the students in achieving a university degree. 

Tenille Duggan
Student Veteran Services Liaison

Tenille is your Student Veteran Liaison in Brisbane. Tenille is currently serving in the Army Reserves as a movements coordinator. In 2021 she commenced studying a Bachelor of Nursing at ACU, which she is completing part-time. She joined the SVS Team in 2022 as a peer facilitator and, in 2023, moved into her current role. Tenille is passionate about supporting other Veterans at ACU to transition into higher education and succeed in their studies.

Tim Kelly
Student Veteran Services Liaison

Tim is your Student Veteran Liaison in Townville. Tim served over 23 years in the Australian Regular Army as a Rifleman reaching the rank of Warrant Officer Class Two with continued service as a Reservist. Tim is passionate to advocate higher education to the Australian Defence Force community and their families whilst supporting them through the student veteran programs. Tim is currently studying a Bachelor of Training and Development and hopes to encourage and support veterans and their families in the pursuit of knowledge through his lived experiences.

Krystal Brown
Senior Student Veteran Peer Facilitator

Krystal is your Student Veteran Assistant on the Melbourne Campus. Krystal is currently a serving member of the Army Reserves. She joined 22 years ago and has completed a mixture of both full-time and part-time service. Krystal began studying a Bachelor of Midwifery in 2020. She then transferred to ACU via the Veteran Entry Program. During her time at ACU Krystal has actively assisted in running the Veteran Transition Program, along with being a part of Orientation, Open Days and social events. Krystal enjoys being a part of the ACU family and she likes being able to stay connected with other current and ex-serving Navy, Army and Airforce members, assisting them in making the most of their higher education experience.
