At ACU, we are committed to tackling society's pressing challenges through people-centred partnerships that recognise human dignity and the common good. Building upon ACU’s widespread footprint across Australia, our approach seeks to shape a world-leading model of place-based innovation districts with partnerships cross disciplines, sectors, and geographical boundaries to empower communities to respond to local needs and improve social, economic, and physical wellbeing.
Each ACU campus is situated in existing neighbourhoods, relationships, and shared capacities that shape how people live, learn, work, and care. The place-based innovation districts will connect and mobilise these assets around priorities defined with local communities.
Place-based approach requires a coalition of willing partners — government, industry, community, and other stakeholders — to contribute according to their strengths and mandate, grow new capability and capacity, build relationships and trust, and share power and accountability for outcomes and impacts.
Innovation should be driven by purpose, not just momentum. These core principles define who the district serves and shape how decisions are made, whose voices are heard, and what kind of future it builds.
