Latest edition of Children Australia

Congratulations to the Co-editors-in-Chief and all the published authors in this issue of the journal Children Australia, Vol 47, Issue 2. on the Children Australia website.

Co-Editors-in-Chief Associate Professor Tim Moore, Dave Vicary and Professor Sharon Bessell highlight what becomes possible when children and young people's lived experience is taken seriously - and why the sector must move beyond aspiration towards embedded, everyday participation. This edition of Children Australia demonstrates the diversity and richness of children's perspectives when they are invited to participate meaningfully in knowledge creation. Two articles using an "Expert by Experience" approach, are co-authored by children reflecting their daily experiences of learning, relationships and community. Other articles in this edition reinforce the centrality of lived experience to effective service design.

Here's a list of all the papers published in this issue:

  • From tokenism to transformation: Lived experience in child and family systems (editorial)
  • What will it take to make child safety, rights and wellbeing a priority in Australia?
  • Learning for a healthy life now and in the future
  • Learning in and beyond school
  • The impact of using an infant and child-led therapeutic approach in providing in situ consultations and transferable learnings to key workers working with families identified as at risk: A retrospective Australian study
  • A literature review of therapeutic intervention with young survivors of violence, exploitation, abuse and neglect
