ACU appoints new Director of Advancement

Australian Catholic University (ACU) has appointed Janosh Biczok as its new Director of Advancement.

Mr Biczok is a mission-driven executive leader who brings 15 years fundraising experience across higher education, faith-based organizations, and the non-profit sector. He has a strong track record in major gifts, capital campaigns, and philanthropic leadership, with extensive experience leading national fundraising teams.

Mr Biczok joins ACU from The Salvation Army, where he was General Manager of Transformational Gifts, delivering the organisation’s largest-ever capital campaign and overseeing major gifts, corporate partnerships and bequests. He also previously spearheaded Deakin University’s major gifts team, securing the university’s largest ever corporate philanthropic donation.

ACU Vice-Chancellor and President Professor Zlatko Skrbis said Mr Biczok’s experience in strategic fundraising, stakeholder engagement, and faith-based philanthropy would benefit ACU.

“We are delighted to welcome Janosh, and his experience will benefit the university as we implement our new 10-year strategic vision,” Professor Skrbis said.

“He brings a wealth of experience and will help build a culture of philanthropy that aligns with our mission and helps leverage our research and social impact programs.”

Mr Biczok said he was excited to join ACU.

“ACU has a remarkable history of making an impact, and I look forward to helping the university achieve its vision,” he said.

“Advancement is about building meaningful relationships, connecting people with a shared vision and creating opportunities to drive change.

“I look forward to working closely with colleagues and community partners to strengthen our outreach and finding new ways to engage with our alumni and philanthropic supporters.”

Mr Biczok holds a Master of Business Administration (Innovation & Leadership) from the University of Canberra and a Bachelor of Business from Monash University.

He takes up his new position at ACU on 14 July and will be based at the university’s Melbourne Campus.
