Snapshot of heart failure in Australia

Australians do not have equal risk of developing heart failure; a new report delves deeper into the problem to provide a more accurate estimate for local areas.

A new report by the Mary MacKillop Institute for Health Research and interactive map quantifying the burden of heart failure from a community perspective highlights Australian Catholic University's (ACU’s) position as a leader in public health research and advocacy.

Led by Institute Director Professor Simon Stewart, the Mary MacKillop report Snapshot of Heart Failure in Australia goes beyond previous estimates around the burden of heart failure to provide more meaningful estimates for local areas of Australia, factoring in the reality of inequality in health and health outcomes.
