In 1998, St John's Abbey and University embarked on a historic mission, entrusting the visionary calligrapher Donald Jackson with an extraordinary task: to create the first completely handwritten and illuminated Bible commissioned by a Benedictine abbey since the invention of the printing press.

Come along and explore this work of art that unites an ancient Benedictine tradition with the technology and vision of today, and immerse yourself in its exquisite beauty as we proudly showcase the fine art, limited heritage edition acquired by the University.

This event is hosted by ACU's Mission and Ministry Directorate in partnership with the ACU Library and will feature a talk by Mr Tim Ternes, Director of the Saint John's Bible followed by guided imagery discussions to ignite the spiritual imagination of people of all faith journeys.

Places are limited so reservations are essential for this event. For catering purposes, please RSVP by Tuesday 22 August 2023.
