Sydney Catholic Schools is responsible for the provision of opportunities for students aged 5-19 to participate in interschool sport, representative trials, unified sport (for Students with Disability), elite programs, gala days, carnivals and championship events.
This community engagement opportunity allows the practicum student to immerse themselves into the sports management side of the organisation. The Community Engagement Program focuses on students with disability and in marginalised communities.
During the community engagement placements, students will be required to assist with the facilitation of the event as officials, coaches and referees. Students will be provided with online training (via a zoom meeting) prior to the commencement of the placement so that they fully understand their roles and responsibilities. Interest in sport is essential but coaching or elite level experience is not necessary.
