Project Growth is a disability support program designed specifically for young males, offering a relatable and energetic environment led by young male support workers.
Based in Ballarat and North Melbourne, the program runs 48 weeks a year and offers 1 or 2-day options, rotating themes every 12 weeks to keep things fresh and engaging. Participants take part in a wide range of interest-based activities that focus on building life skills, independence, and social connections - from cooking, cleaning, shopping, and travel training to tech projects, sports, and creative group ventures like designing and marketing their own Project Growth merchandise. Regular outings include barbecues, movies, bowling, and bigger monthly excursions to places like the beach or footy games. With a strong focus on fun, mateship, and skill-building, Project Growth is all about helping young men grow in confidence, gain independence, and thrive in the community.
The role
When on placement your role will be to work with the support workers and managers to act as another support for the male participants. We want people that are outgoing, caring and open to having a go at anything.
