The role
Student Placement positions (Student Support Workers) will work in group settings alongside experienced disability support workers. Students Support Workers will be expected to engage with people with a disability in various centre-based and community-based activities.
Student Support Workers will:
- read and understand the person’s individualised support plans to ensure safe and tailored supports;
- work within a team of support workers, including reporting to a Senior Support Worker;
- follow WHS protocols.
During these activities, Student Support workers will not be required to provide any one-to-one support, personal care or high-intensity supports.
