Mercy Health offer student placements across their aged care facilities through their Lifestyle & Event team, supporting the elderly in their social activities.

The role

The site has a lifestyle program for the residents at the facility. The program includes activities such as entertainment, art and craft, exercise groups, bingo, board games, walking groups, religious services, gardening and much more. Under the supervision of the Lifestyle Coordinator, the Lifestyle Activity Support Volunteer will:

  • Deliver the monthly program to each resident as needed.
  • Assist to set up spaces for activities.
  • Assist to facilitate some of the activities
  • Support residents to attend and participate in the activities
  • Interact with residents during the activities
