Baby Give Back: Greeter, Packer, Giver, Sorter and Cleaner

Baby Give Back gives children an equal start in life by providing basic essentials (like clothing and nappies) to families doing it tough - packaged with dignity and delivered through support services.

Baby Give Back gives children an equal start in life by providing quality clothing, nappies and essentials to Queensland families with children aged 0-5. We work in partnership with support services, including midwives, child health nurses, domestic and family violence services and community organisations. That way, families receive what they need through the worker supporting them.

One in six Queensland children aged 0-5 lives in poverty. For families juggling rent, food and bills, keeping a growing child in clothes that fit can mean impossible trade-offs. Taking that cost off the table gives families room to focus on everything else.

How we give matters as much as what we give. Everything is donated by our community, then sorted, quality-checked and packed by volunteers so it arrives like a gift. Together, we've supported more than 65,000 babies and children across Queensland.

As a volunteer, you'll sort donated clothing and pack Clothing Boxes for children across the state.

The role

There are a range of volunteer positions within the warehouse and we encourage all of our volunteers to try all of the jobs to find their best fit or the thing they like to do the most.

From greeting donors, to sorting donations, packing boxes of clothes or linen, creating beautiful toy packs, cleaning car seats, sanding cots or helping to bring a pram back to life by cleaning it and safety checking it.

We also have volunteers who pack orders that have been placed by caseworkers - these volunteers need an eye for detail, will read the order form and pack the order to best suit the family’s needs. No two orders are ever the same.
