A Brave Life is a registered charity that connects and equips vulnerable mothers to the necessary resources and support so that they feel encouraged, empowered and confident caring for their newborns and moving through their perinatal period (conception to one year post birth).

Our programs include our EMALO (Empowering Mother's and Little One's) perinatal mother's group for young mothers aged 24 years and younger, led by our lived experience team. Baby Bundle program - providing brand new, newborn essentials to vulnerable mothers facing a broad range of challenges such as domestic violence, homelessness, perinatal mental health, poverty and those impacted by crisis, isolation and discrimination.

The role will involve:

For the EMALO Program
  • Interacting with babies and toddlers in a friendly and safe manner while in the presence of their parent/caregiver.
  • Interacting with the young mothers in a friendly and safe manner.
  • Setting up and packing up of resources before and after the groups and assisting with simple cleaning tasks.
  • Attending EMALO (at A Brave Life) at the time and location agreed upon with the EMALO coordinator.
  • Being respectful and maintaining confidentiality of all individuals who are part of the EMALO program.
For the Baby Bundle Program
  • Packing of Baby Bundles - brand new nappy bags filled with newborn essentials.
  • Unpacking of newborn items such as nappies, wipes, baby wash.
  • Assisting in the warehouse under the guidance of our Baby Bundle Coordinator.
