Textiles Technology prepares you to teach students about the design, production and use of textiles in everyday life. You will develop the knowledge and pedagogical skills needed to teach textile design, fabric technologies, garment construction and sustainable practices through engaging, hands-on learning experiences. This teaching area explores the creative and practical dimensions of textiles while helping students develop design thinking, problem-solving, creativity and technical skills. You will learn how to support students in creating innovative textile products and making informed decisions about the social, ethical and environmental impacts of the textile industry.
