The Exercise Lifestyle Clinic (ELC) was developed within the ACU Health Clinic (Banyo) to offer our students enrolled in the Master of Clinical Exercise Physiology course real world experience. The ELC provides a platform for our students to put into practice, the skills they have learned throughout their degree with real clients while working alongside our Accredited Exercise Physiologists. Together, students and clinical supervisors conduct assessments and develop exercise and lifestyle programs for a broad spectrum of clientele.

Our services

At some point in our lives, most of us can benefit from exercise and lifestyle services offered by Accredited Exercise Physiologists. Exercise physiology services are indicated and appropriate for those with:

  • Cardiovascular disease
  • Diabetes
  • Osteoporosis
  • Arthritis
  • Cancer
  • Mental health disturbance
  • Neurological disorders
  • Musculoskeletal injury
  • Pregnancy and post-partum
  • Respiratory conditions

At your first appointment, we will get to know you so that we can work with you to design an individually tailored exercise and lifestyle program. This program may involve the use of facilities available at the ACU Health Clinic, at home or community facilities. To complement our individual services, we also offer group based programs.

Group based programs

Park ‘N’ Ride

This program offers individual health and symptoms assessment as well as group exercise sessions. These sessions aim to assist in maintaining fitness, reducing symptom severity and limiting the development of co-morbidities for adults with Parkinson's disease.

Sweet and Salty

Designed for people with pre-diabetes or diabetes, Sweet and Salty provides lifestyle planning and education, exercise programming and opportunities for social interactions.

Baby Steps

Baby Steps provides education and exercise programming for women who are planning pregnancy, pregnant or have recently given birth. This program provides safe and effective exercise prescription to manage the changes and challenges associated with fertility, pregnancy and post-partum.
