ACU Faculty of Law and Business celebrates ERA results

The following notes confirm the ERA (Excellence in Research for Australia) 2015 results for the ACU Faculty of Law and Business. The Faculty contributed to the ERA exercise via two discipline domain submissions in FoR 1503 (Business and Management) and FoR 1801 (Law).

Research has been evaluated by a panel of national and international experts, informed by peer review of a sample of research outputs. The evaluation process has now been completed and panel recommendations have been finalised. The quality of both submissions attracted a quality rating of ‘3’, that is: research quality at world standard!!

Professor Thomas Lange, the Faculty’s Associate Dean Research commented:

The publicised quality of research is a very important market differentiator. Our ERA returns will help us promote our research strengths on the world stage. Colleagues as well as prospective students across the globe take note of these important developments. What is more, research excellence informs our teaching – for the benefit of our students – and engages our staff with researchers across the world. I welcome our ERA results as a significant vote of confidence by our peers.”

The ERA results were announced as ACU reflects on its second successful year of research intensification – a five-year strategy developed in response to changes in the Australian Higher Education sector – with a focus on high quality publications a defining characteristic.
