It is with great sadness that we learned of the sudden death of Prof. Dr. Laszlo Tengelyi, who passed away on 19 July. His home department at the Universitat Wuppertal has a warm and fitting obituary for him on its homepage: http://www.philosophie.uni-wuppertal.de. On behalf of the Australasian Society for Continental Philosophy community and Australian Catholic University, we the organising committee of the 2014 conference offer our heartfelt sympathies to Prof. Tengelyi's family and his many friends and colleagues. Prof. Tengelyi was to offer a keynote address at our conference in December, and we have left the abstract for his address on our website. He will be remembered at our conference in December.
