Law and Business
Rebecca Kingsford graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree in Melbourne. “I specialised in marketing and completed my thesis. I have also completed a Bachelor of Arts/Commerce degree majoring in Behavioural Science and Marketing”.
Rebecca decided on going straight from high school to university. “I decided not to have a gap year, as I was unsure about how committed I would be to my studies had I taken time off. It may work for others, but I felt it was the best course of action for me. I decided that I would use my semester breaks to travel overseas in order to extend my experience while studying. I wish I had studied abroad through ACU’s international exchange program and would strongly recommend other students to not miss this amazing opportunity.
"I chose ACU as I felt the smaller size of the Melbourne campus would be supportive in terms of both student and staff relationships. ACU has been a really positive experience for me, the staff work really closely with you to help you get the most out of your studies. You never feel you are alone or out of your depth. The best thing about studying Business in particular at ACU is the frequent and direct access to tutors and lecturers. This enabled me to work more closely with them and to quickly grasp the principals of my work”.
Rebecca offers good advice to year 12 students. “My advice to all year 12 students is to never give up! An ATAR is only a number and is not a true reflection of your intelligence, capabilities or your future. For those students that are about to commence university, it is important that you set objectives and goals that you want to achieve. If you make sure that you always try your very best and have a positive outlook with your studies, you will be amazed at what you can achieve. Be enthusiastic and determined, it is not always easy but keep trying your best!”
