I will be staying in Australia until the end of the year to complete my Bachelor of Commerce degree.

My uni experience at Manila was not what I was expecting. There was roughly only 30 students in the entire university and this was new to me coming from a high school with thousands of students. The class size was around 8-20 students per unit which actually allowed us to fully understand the topics. Also having a small community, it allowed us to have a strong bond between the students and the faculty.

With moving to ACU North Sydney, I didn’t know what to expect. I was in a new country and a new campus. Over the span of a few months, I was able to meet new people from different cultures while slowly immersing myself in the Australian culture as well. My overall experience has been interesting and I am eager to see what else is in store for me.

Growing up, I’ve always been into maths. Upon looking through courses in different universities, this program particularly stood out because it incorporated my strengths and potential career path.

I’ve always intended to pursue a career in Australia. This was the primary reason why I decided to study in an Australian-based university while I was still in the Philippines. I feel as though completing my degree in Australia will provide me with more opportunities in the future.

For students studying abroad who are considering a tertiary-level education in Australia, I would recommend studying at ACU. It is a great way to meet new people, learn more about other cultures, while still being able to receive a quality education.

I’d probably pursue a career in accounting or get my master’s degree for me to further grow.

For three months, I had the incredible opportunity to intern inside the Vatican City State. As a Catholic, it was a surreal experience being able to not only be in the capital of Catholicism, but also being able to work within it.

This internship allowed me to travel across the globe and collaborate with a talented team of accountants. I was also able to immerse myself in the different cultures around me during my stay. During this time, I was able to dive into and learn more about the accounting industry in an international setting.

I am so thankful for this opportunity which ACU had presented. It was truly an experience that was able to open my eyes and further prepare me for the real world of accounting. It was wrapped in a package that I perceive was a once in a lifetime opportunity.
