Australian Catholic University’s Nursing courses aim to prepare students as professional nurses who can work in a variety of health-care organisations and community settings.
ACU’s nursing programs are currently accredited, and are undergoing accreditation review by the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council (ANMAC) for 2018 intake. Graduates of an accredited course will be eligible for registration as registered nurses with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Domestic students with Diploma of Nursing qualifications, on the Ballarat and Melbourne campuses in 2018; should apply for the Bachelor of Nursing (Later Year Entry) program via VTAC.
International and ACU College students on the Ballarat and Melbourne campuses, who have successfully completed their Diploma of Nursing are still eligible to apply for the Bachelor of Nursing (Enrolled Nurses), and should apply to ACU directly.
Domestic, International and ACU College students with Diploma of Nursing qualifications, on the Brisbane, Canberra and North Sydney campuses in 2018; should continue to apply for the Bachelor of Nursing (Enrolled Nurses).
Midwifery goes beyond the birth of babies. Core midwifery skills include managing normal pregnancy and childbirth and providing effective postnatal maternal and newborn care. Graduates will be eligible for endorsement as a midwife upon completion.
ACU's midwifery programs are accredited by the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council (ANMAC).
