Postgraduate courses in High Performance Sport
The high performance sport industry is a global, multi-billion dollar entity that provides employment opportunities for a range of professions including sport scientists, coaches, athletes and managers. At the heart of this industry is the conditioning of the athlete with the aim of optimising individual and team performance for successful on-field outcomes, as well as sustainable operational success for the organisation.
The courses prepare graduates for the following roles:
- Sports scientist
- High performance manager
- Strength and conditioning coach
- Professional coach
- Fitness coach
- Rehabilitation coach
- Performance analyst
- Fitness advisor
- Sports science manager
Graduate Certificate: One semester full-time or part-time equivalent
Graduate Diploma: Two semesters full-time or part-time equivalent
Master: Three semesters full-time or part-time equivalent.
The courses are primarily delivered online. There is a one-week on-campus, intensive component at the commencement of each course (excluding the Graduate Certificate in High Performance Sport Leadership). This component allows students to interact directly with the curriculum, while providing the added opportunity to network directly with industry specialists and other students in the course. Students will be required to fly into Australia for the intensive component, which runs in February each year or off-shore (overseas) by invitation in June/July each year.
