Authentic mission-driven leadership is compassionate action that transforms lives, communities and organisation, requires courage to interrupt the fixed ways of cultural, organisational and political systems on behalf of the most vulnerable, and is ultimately about building the connections across imaginary boundaries by building connections between people, ideas, cultures and geographies. This study tour will develop a community of practice amongst leaders in Catholic organisations, giving them the opportunity to expand the way they think about their own leadership by seeing leadership that is exercised and demonstrated in three circles of practice-based influence: community directed leadership in health, education and social service; politically directed leadership that includes advocacy and social justice; and internationally directed leadership that is inclusive of the Church's mission lived out in the service of health, education, and humanitarian development. The tour will take place over 20 days and will incorporate destinations in the United States and Europe, culminating in Rome.
