Join Dr Louise Alexander and learn about how our correctional health degree can help you advance your nursing career by providing:

  • a dedicated and comprehensive theoretical and practical forensic mental health unit where you can develop the necessary skills and knowledge to assess and work with prisoners experiencing a range of serious mental health issues including schizophrenia, antisocial personality disorder, bipolar disorder, and major depressive disorder.
  • a discrete unit which focuses on the unique chronic healthcare needs of Australian prisoners including communicable diseases, substance misuse, respiratory conditions, accelerated ageing, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, arthritis and cancers.
  • explore deaths in custody, recidivism and other factors that are unique to correctional nursing, and learn how you can make a difference through health promotion
  • flexible, interactive, immersive and engaging teaching modalities taught by specialists in the field
