EXSC304 Anticipation and Decision Making
Prerequisites EXSC213 Acquiring and Retaining Expertise
Teaching Organisation 150 hours of focused learning.
This unit will examine making split-second decisions under the stress of high performance competition. Research decision-making evidence will be highlighted and an innovative decision-training system will be used to explain the concepts. Students will be introduced to the quiet eye phenomenon and decision training, one aspect of decision making which has been based upon the vision-in-action method of recording what athletes see when they perform. These tools are research-based concepts that students can choose from in order to help prepare athletes on a specific decision-making task in a simulated competition context.
