We offer the opportunity to study the core curriculum abroad in Rome, Beijing, New York, Paris or Leeds.

Rome

Enjoy a study abroad program that includes classes at our Rome Campus. The Rome Campus is a jointly operated centre between ACU and The Catholic University of America (CUA). 

The program is offered in both the January and July breaks.

All students stay at the ACU Rome Campus’ accommodation located in Janiculum Hill, behind the Vatican and near trendy Trastevere. The campus offers living quarters for undergraduates, a wing for postgraduate students, apartments for visiting faculty, commercial kitchen, a chapel, garden and other amenities.

Eligible students may apply for:

  • Up to A$2500 to assist in the costs of undertaking study overseas.
  • Provost International Core Curriculum Scholarship valued at A$1000 to help cover the cost of the program fee. Grants are awarded on the basis of merit and are subject to availability.
  • OS-HELP loan that provides financial assistance for eligible Commonwealth supported students to undertake part of their course of study overseas.

New York

In partnership with St. John’s University, we  are offering a three-week study program during the July semester break that includes classes undertaken in New  York City, New York. Founded in 1870, St. John’s University is a private,  Catholic university in the United States with over 20,000 students.

The program includes opportunities to take group community visits and sightseeing activities with plenty of free time to explore New York’s landmarks.

 

The program fee is approximately A$3500. The  program fee covers:

  • shared accommodation
  • some meals
  • airport transfer
  • scheduled group excursion/site visits
  • welcome and farewell dinner.

The program fee does not include the return airfare to New York,  ACU HECS/ tuition for UNCC300 or additional travel.

 

Eligible students may apply for:

  • Up to A$2500 to assist in the costs of undertaking study overseas.

All students stay in shared accommodation at St. John’s University Henley Road Residence, conveniently located near the University’s  Queens campus.

The housing can be easily accessed via public transport and the  university shuttle bus service. Each apartment has a full kitchen and living  room

 

Leeds

In partnership with Leeds Trinity University, we offer a three-week study program during the January break that includes classes undertaken in Leeds, England. Leeds Trinity University is set on a beautiful green campus in Horsforth, a town located six miles north-west of Leeds city centre and about a 3-hour train ride from London.

  • Weekend: free for personal travel or study

January 30 – February 3

Beijing

In partnership with The Beijing Centre, we are offering an exciting opportunity to complete one of your core curriculum units during the July semester break in Beijing, Xi’an and Shanghai.

Eligible students may apply for:

  • Up to A$2500 to assist in the costs of undertaking study overseas.
  • Provost International Core Curriculum Scholarship valued at A$1000 to help cover the cost of the program fee. Grants are awarded on the basis of merit and are subject to availability.
  • OS-HELP loan which provides financial assistance for eligible Commonwealth supported students to undertake part of their course of study overseas.

All students stay in shared accommodation arranged by The Beijing Centre. The accommodation is located adjacent to The Beijing Centre campus in the Chaoyang District, which is a residential area of Beijing. Shared accommodation is included in the price of the program.

Day 1-6 in Beijing

  • Program orientation, Chinese food culture class
  • Campus and neighbourhood tour with Chinese students
  • Welcome dinner
  • Chinese language classes
  • Class on Chinese spiritual life
  • Taichi class
  • Visit to Tian’anmen Square, Forbidden City and Houhai
  • Visit to the Temple of Heaven and Hongqiao Market

Day 7-9 in Xi’an

  • City Wall and Bicycle tour on the Wall and Muslim Street
  • Evening Fountain Show
  • Visit to Yuan Family Village (Chinese traditional culture experience)
  • Visit to Shannxi Museum and Terra Cotta Warrior Museum
  • Day 10-13 in Shanghai
  • Guided walking-tour of Shanghai’s Old French Quarter
  • Shanghai Huangpu River Cruise and visit to the Bund
  • Tour of Yu-Garden, Shanghai Old Town and Xintiandi
  • Tour of Shanghai Center and Lujiazui Shanghai Financial District

Day 14-18 in Beijing

  • Class on China in the world economy
  • Tour of Mutianyu Great Wall and group dinner
  • Class on Chinese government and politics
  • Closing dinner

The program fee is approximately A$3500; however, generous scholarships and grants are available to cover some or all of the cost. The program fees cover the following:

  • shared accommodation
  • airport transfer
  • scheduled group excursion/site visits
  • welcome dinner.

The program fee does not include the return airfare to China, ACU, HECS/ tuition for UNCC300, or any additional personal travel.
