Don’t study to another person’s timetable. If you have the right university, VET or work experience, you can apply for credit transfer or recognition of prior learning (also known as advanced standing) towards a course at ACU.

Get started by following our step-by-step guide.

Apply for credit where it’s due

Read our guide to credit and prior learning

If you haven’t already, it’s a good idea to read our guide on the different types of credit and prior learning before you apply.

You can do this by visiting explaining credit and prior learning.

Explaining credit and prior learning

Fill out application form

You can apply for both recognition of prior learning (RPL) and credit transfer by downloading and filling out our application for credit/recognition of prior learning (CR) form.

Please note: You can only apply for credit once you have accepted and enrolled in your course.

You’ll need to complete all the relevant sections of the form and attach the required documentation, including certified copies where stated. Please do not supply original documents as they will not be returned to you.

Return form before closing date

Once you’ve completed the form, lodge it along with your supporting documents to your ACU School Office for assessment.

Closing date

You should fill out and submit your CR form at least four weeks before the commencement of the study period that will require the RPL or credit transfer decision.

Otherwise, you should submit the form no later than the census date of the first standard study period of your course enrolment.

Check your email

As soon as your CR form has been processed, we’ll let you know by sending a notification email to your ACU student email address.

Make sure you check your inbox regularly.

Are you an international student?

If you’re an international student with previous study or work experience, you may be eligible for credit towards your new ACU course.
