IT is upgrading our Virtual Private Network (VPN) to a safer, more secure connection. We’d like to remind staff to install the new VPN on your work laptop or home computer by 20 July - before the current service is retired.
Virtual Private Network (VPN) is software that allows you to connect to ACU network and to your computer securely whilst off campus - giving you access to all the systems you use when on-site.
ACU’s current VPN (VP5) is at the end of life and we are upgrading to a more secure and safer VPN service called GlobalProtect.
GlobalProtect meets ACU’s cyber security compliance requirements and is a more mature service than VP5. It will provide improved performance when connecting to the ACU Network from home or external sites.
GlobalProtect was rolled out to frequent user laptops in early July (Service Desk Advisory email was sent to staff).
If you didn’t get a chance to action the Service Desk Advisory, or if you’re an infrequent VPN user or use your home computer/laptop to connect to the ACU network - please install the new VPN software on your computer by 20 July.
