A message from the Chief Operating Officer Dr Stephen Weller:
ACU is improving the way we communicate, connect and collaborate with one another – not just within our own teams but across the University.
The results of the myVoice 2017 Staff Engagement Survey showed that staff identified ‘cooperation and communication’ as an area for improvement across ACU.
We’re listening, and we want to support the staff community by providing opportunities for you to share information more easily and collaborate on work projects.
One of the ways we are doing this is by providing everyone with access to a new communication and collaboration platform called Workplace.
Workplace looks and feels a lot like Facebook but it is a completely separate platform for work.
This staff-only platform offers you a chance to:
Why do we think Workplace is a good idea?
The decision to provide this to everyone follows a highly successful pilot of Workplace among Corporate Services Portfolio staff between March and July of this year.
More than 85 per cent of the Corporate Service Portfolio voluntarily joined the pilot.
Surveys taken before and toward the end of the pilot found that staff reported a very positive experience.

When will you have access to Workplace?
A staged roll-out to different areas of the University is currently underway with more than 1,000 staff already introduced to Workplace.
Along with Corporate Services, staff from Office of the Vice-Chancellor and President, Research Institutes and the Office of the Vice President are actively contributing to the community.
The plan is to extend an invitation to join Workplace to staff in all other areas by Christmas this year.
