Exercise and Nutrition Research Program
Ida’s research focuses on the health and performance effects of dietary periodisation in elite endurance athletes. Specifically, her thesis will investigate (1) the current practices of dietary periodisation among world-class track and field endurance athletes and professional cyclists, and (2) the effects of acute and chronic training with low carbohydrate availability on bone metabolism and endurance performance in world-class triathletes and race walkers.
Ida is supervised by Prof. Louise Burke, Prof. John Hawley, and Dr. Trent Stellingwerff (Canadian Sport Institute Pacific).
