Christian Brakenridge

Behaviour, Environment and Cognition Research Program

Christian is currently completing his PhD under the supervision of Professor David Dunstan, and Associate Professor Alison Carver. Christian’s primary research focus concerns glycaemic control and sitting in people with type 2 diabetes.

Christian has prior experience working as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist in the community with older adults with particular focus on orthopaedic rehabilitation, and chronic pain. In addition, Christian has extensive experience delivering large scale sedentary behaviour and physical activity interventions at the University of Queensland’s School of Population Health and School of Human Movement and Nutrition Science. His aim is to marry up both interests, and investigate the implications of these large scale health interventions in those with chronic disease.
