Courtney’s research is focused on identifying the psychological factors that predict cognitive, emotional and behavioural school engagement amongst high school students at risk of dropping out and understanding how these factors moderate the outcomes of a mentoring intervention.

She is interested in psychological resilience amongst young people, particularly how character strengths promote wellbeing and buffer negative life experiences.

Courtney is currently also completing a Master of Clinical Psychology at ACU and has previously researched in the field of gerontology.
