Alumni Awards Judging Panel 

An Alumni Awards Judging Panel, comprising of representatives from across ACU including professional and academic staff and senate representatives, will decide the winners of the ACU Alumni Awards. 

Eligibility requirements

  • Nominees must be ACU or predecessor institution graduates.
  • ACU honorary degree/doctorate recipients are not eligible for nomination, unless they are also an ACU graduate.
  • All graduates of ACU and its predecessor institutions (domestic, international, undergraduate and postgraduate) are eligible for nomination within the award categories, unless they are excluded due to one of the rules below:
    • Alumni who are currently employed by ACU are not eligible for nomination during their period of employment with ACU.
    • Current members of the ACU Senate are not eligible for nomination.
  • Anyone can make a nomination, including nominating yourself.
  • The Alumni Relations team will contact nominees to notify them that they have been nominated.
  • Nominees may request to be removed from the nomination process.
  • Alumni do not have to be working in the particular discipline from which they graduated.
  • Former ACU staff may be nominated provided they meet the eligibility criteria and are an ACU graduate.
  • ACU alumni who are staff at other universities are eligible for nomination.
  • Posthumous nominations will not be accepted.
  • The judging panel reserves the right to not award a nomination for any category.
  • Nominators must:
    • complete the nomination form
    • attach a current professional CV for the nominee (or yourself if you are self-nominating)
    • provide a written statement of support addressing the selection criteria (maximum of 500 words)
    • provide any supporting evidence, such as awards, publications or media coverage of the nominee (limited to two attachments).

Filming and publicity

  • All recipients will be filmed and photographed as part of the 2020 ACU Alumni Awards.
  • All recipients will be interviewed and profiled in a story about their career and achievements.

Awards presentation

  • The award recipients are announced in digital communications prior to the awards ceremony, with the overall winner of the Alumni of the Year award under embargo until the awards ceremony presentation.
  • Following the ceremony, the Alumni Awards videos will be made available on the ACU website, and on ACU media channels which will include the announcement of the Alumni of the Year winner.
