Tradition and Innovation symposium to be held at IRCI

“Tradition and Innovation in Early Christianity” – a symposium to be held at the Institute for Religion and Critical Inquiry at ACU Melbourne in August

For an innovation to be acceptable and successful it needs to be anchored in the known and familiar.

Examining ideas to do with anchoring innovation – with how innovation and tradition might hang together – the symposium organisers see how emphasising mechanisms of ‘anchoring’ can provide a useful framework to extend scholarship in the area of early Christian studies, and allow it to speak in new ways to other areas of the humanities.

The symposium will be held from 15 August 2018, until 17 August, 2018.

Registrations close July 15, 2018.

For further details about the symposium – including confirmed speakers and registration and / or abstract submission, please see the IRCI events page here.
