Teubner wins Manfred Lautenschlaeger Award for Theological Promise

ACU researcher Dr Jonathan Teubner has won the prestigious Manfred Lautenschlaeger Award for Theological Promise for his monograph Prayer After Augustine: A Study in the Development of the Latin Tradition (Oxford: Oxford University Press, 2018).

The prize is offered for the best dissertation or first book in theology broadly understood, and seeks to attract applicants from all religious traditions and a wide range of academic fields.

Jonathan’s study takes up the themes of prayer, patience, and hope in thinkers such as Augustine, Boethius, and Benedict, and reconceptualises notions of ‘Augustinian tradition’ and ‘tradition’ itself. It thus aims to contribute to historical and systematic theology, religious ethics, and related theoretical paradigms.
