Dr Valentina Lorenzetti

Senior Lecturer

Dr Valentina Lorenzetti's research stream focuses on investigating the neurocognitive mechanisms of addiction and related mental health disorders using standardised clinical and cognitive testing tools, multi-modal neuroimaging techniques and multi-site consortia. She is particularly interested in unpacking the neurobiology of cannabis use the role of cannabis potency, whether recreational substance use and dependence have a distinct neurobiological signature and sex differences in addiction. She is also interested in developing accessible evidence-based interventions (e.g. mindfulness-based psychological strategies) and their impact on addiction neurobiology, using randomised, active placebo controlled trials.
