CeDDR offers training opportunities of exceptional quality to HDR candidates. Talented scholars are supervised and mentored by proven researchers in a team environment. Our partnerships can provide options for working visits to our international partner organisations in Europe, UK and North America. Involvement in larger multi-site projects provides scholars with valuable experience in working with multidisciplinary teams, and exposure to a range of expertise and skillsets. These opportunities are important for students who increasingly seek a more enriched experience as part of their study. Similarly, the Centre has supported students from Radboud University, Jonkoping University and elsewhere under this collaborative model of exchange.
Locally, CeDDR fosters a vital research culture for postgraduate research, with support for a range of research and professional development activities. Students will be involved in a regular schedule of meetings/forums and workshops designed to share recent developments in project design, implementation and dissemination. This involves members from across our multi-disciplinary space, including links to the CRE-CP. CeDDR strongly encourages co-supervision and (peer and team) mentoring. This occurs in the context of both formal and informal meetings of project teams and Centre staff as a whole, and as a part of local and invited symposia. In short, CeDDR fosters cross-talk and cooperation among our project teams and between our students and visiting fellows/scholars; this is facilitated across campuses using current videoconferencing and other media.
CeDDR fosters the development of post-doctoral training programs, liked to internally and externally funded projects.
CeDDR supports internships for early-career researchers, sponsored by the Research Office at ACU. Interested individuals are invited to discuss options for collaborative work where a strong, shared interest exists with senior researchers at CeDDR. These opportunities to work on collaborative projects provide individuals with teaching relief to enable a concentrated research experience during the academic year.
