Through the Faculty of Theology and Philosophy, we offer academic courses in liturgical studies and sacramental theology, such as the Graduate Certificate in Theological Studies (Liturgy) and a liturgy concentration within the Master of Theological Studies.

Our academics supervise students undertaking higher degree research in liturgy, sacramental theology and the sacred arts at masters and doctoral levels through ACU’s research degree programs.

Research students

Fr. Vincent Trung Nguyen

Fr. Vincent Trung Nguyen, is assistant priest of Hornsby Cathedral, Diocese of Broken Bay. Fr. Vincent undertook the Graduate Certificate in Theological Studies (Liturgy) and found that it was very helpful to his ministry and his life as a priest serving the particular liturgical pastoral needs at the Cathedral graduating in 2019 with the GCTS (liturgy).

Kerin Johnson is currently the Religious Education Leader at St Patrick's Parish Primary School in Ballarat, Victoria. She is also a member of the Sacramental team at St Patrick's Cathedral Parish and a Liturgical singer/musician at St Columba's Parish, Ballarat North. Kerin found studying for the Graduate Certificate of Theological Studies (Liturgy) to be particularly relevant for successful liturgical ministry in each of these roles.
