Our short courses in theology offer you the opportunity to explore Christian faith and world religions without committing to a full degree. If you’re teaching religious education or working in a Catholic school, you’ll gain hours towards your professional development accreditation.  

Short Course Information, Semester 1, 2020

Envisioning the Church of the Future: Themes of the Plenary Council

Venue: ACU Melbourne Campus, Christ Lecture Theatre, 115 Victoria Parade, Fitzroy

Semester 1 Dates: 4, 11, 18 and 25 March (Wednesdays)

Cost: $60 attendance only, $100 attendance with a certificate of accreditation.
Free for ACU Students and Staff

This Course has been approved for 6 hours towards “Accreditation to Teach in a Catholic School” (4 hours for Category A and 2 hours for Category C).

Time: 6pm – 8pm (refreshments from 6pm, lecture commences at 6.30pm)

11 March:
Topic: Open to Conversion, Renewal and Reform
Speaker: Rev. Dr. Kevin Lenehan (Catholic Theological College)

18 March:
Topic: Humble, Healing and Merciful
Speaker: Assoc. Prof. Robyn Horner (ACU)

25 March:
Topic: Inclusive, Participatory and Synodal
Speaker: Rev. Assoc. Prof. Orm Rush (ACU)

Semester 2 dates: 29 July and 5, 12 and 19 August (Wednesdays)
