Dr Starla Hargita

Dr Starla Hargita is a trans-national legal academic specialising in gender, family, feminist temporalities, and qualitative research methods. She is currently completing her co-tutelle PhD in law with the University of Technology Sydney and the University of Kent on the legal temporalities of parental leave, flexible work, and superannuation in Australia. Her teaching areas include administrative law and land law.
Starla completed her LLM at the University of Cambridge with a thesis studying the impacts of British and Swedish welfare economics on parental leave. Prior to her LLM, she completed a dual-degree JD/MS in Conflict and Dispute Resolution at the University of Oregon where she graduated summa cum laude. Her first degree was in Architecture and the History of Art at Wellesley College.
