The Loreto Kirribilli Academic Mentor Program empowers young women to reach their potential and maximise their future. This program aims to address the needs of the mildly to profoundly Gifted student. The Program matches students with volunteer mentors who provide invaluable, individualised support including career guidance and exposure to learning opportunities above and beyond the school curriculum.

The Academic Mentor Program has been running in the junior school since 2014. It is now a K-12 initiative and is expanding at a great rate. The mentors in this program volunteer their time to support and guide Loreto Kirribilli students.

Evidence based research supports the great value of having mentors work with the academically advanced students from K-12. Mentors are matched with students who share the same passion and are keen to be working above and beyond their stage level. A mentor in the Loreto program may share with a mentee information about his or her own career path, as well as provide guidance, motivation and role modelling. A mentor may help with exploring careers, setting goals, developing contacts, and identifying resources.

The Academic Mentor Program at Loreto has the power to impact the course of the girls academic and personal life trajectories.

During the school day in person and on Teams. Preference is at Loreto Kirribilli on campus. At times you may need to work online and at these times it would be using Teams.
