Kedron State High School is located in Brisbane’s northside and has a large population of youth from refugee and migrant backgrounds.

ACU Engagement partners with the school in supporting an afternoon homework club where students from these backgrounds can receive support for their homework tasks and assignments. Many of these students have been in Australia for less than five years.

Students from several schools at ACU (eg occupational therapy, speech pathology, social work) have completed community engagement hours at this homework club and have had the opportunity to support Kedron State High students as they work toward completing their high school studies. ACU Engagement supports the homework club during school terms two and three.
