To provide a day of fun, recreational activities for regional Victorian children aged between 6 and 12 years. These activities are provided free of charge to families and also allow for some much needed respite for their parents or guardians.
To encourage senior students from local Catholic Secondary Colleges to improve their awareness of the St Vincent de Paul Society and how they provide assistance to families. They have the opportunity to see the need in their local community and be part of a short term solution. They are provided with leadership skills and encouraged to think of the bigger picture. It is hoped that they then show interest in forming a Young Adult Conference at a later stage in their local area.
The volunteers will work with the supervisor to train the high school students in leading activities for kids, including some behaviour management skills.
