Holy Cross Tuckerbox is a volunteer run food outlet designed to assist people with budget constraints.
The annexe, church and breezeway are transformed into a small grocery and afternoon tea centre on Saturdays from 2 pm to 4 pm. Groceries, bread, fresh fruit and vegetables, mostly provided by Foodbank NSW/ACT and OzHarvest, are available for a nominal handling fee. A wide variety of people are part of our community — pensioners, people living with disabilities, and working families on tight budgets are all members of Tuckerbox.
Setting up in preparation for Tuckerbox, including unloading Foodbank deliveries and re-packaging food items, assisting customers, packing up and general organization. Both physical and non-physical help is required.
