All primary school students who attend North Sydney Demonstration School (NSDS) can enrol to attend the After School Learning Club to receive support with homework, art and other learning activities. Children make their way from their classrooms to the club after school bell goes. The club is run on NSDS premises.
Children typically eat their afternoon tea and enjoy supervised play till 3.30pm, after which they go to their allocated classroom to begin homework activities. Children are grouped according to their year and tutors work with them to assist them in completing their assigned tasks.
As far as possible, we assign a tutor to work with differently able children who find it more challenging.
Your main responsibility will be to aid and assist, to the best of your ability, the differently able children in the program, especially those who have behavioural issues or who find it more challenging to complete their homework, art and/or other learning activities.
You will need to have a current and valid Working With Children Check.
