The FOGS ARTIE Academy provides Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students attending Queensland schools the opportunity to participate in a program that encourages and rewards improvements in school attendance, behaviour, academic achievement, effort and ultimately Year 12 attainment or its equivalent.

The ARTIE Academy Tutoring Program is a volunteer based initiative of the ARTIE Academy that assists to ‘Close the Gap’ in educational outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students in selected schools across Queensland.

The aim of this program is to develop confidence and raise abilities in numeracy and literacy.

The program achieves this through supporting students in class and tutoring students outside of the classroom one-on-one, as well as in small groups.

 


Position Description

Tutor and Mentor support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students in class and outside of the classroom one-on-one, as well as in small groups. Tutors will mainly be placed in core subjects (i.e. Math, English, Science).

Position Requirements

  • Blue Card.
  • Availability during school hours.
