Are you tired of wrestling with the doors on your linen cupboard? Is your kitchen a mish-mash of cutlery sets and odd mugs? Maybe it’s just time for a clean-out? Declutter your home and repurpose your household items by donating them to new ACU students.

Every year students come from all over the world to study at ACU, and for many this is their first experience living out of home. You can help our students set up their new homes by donating your unwanted, good condition household items. These items will be made available to students for free at a Welcome Bazaar event on campus.


From Monday 21st January - Friday 15th February ACU Engagement, with the support of Campus Ministry, will be collecting donations of:

  • Manchester – blankets, pillows, towels, bedroom linen (please attach a tag indicating size ie single, double, queen, king) etc. Please launder all manchester before donating.
  • Kitchen utensils - cutlery, crockery, pots and pans, utensils, storage and serving items etc.
  • Stationery - pens, pencils, pencil cases, folders etc.
  • Bags - backpacks, handbags, sports bags etc.
  • Small furniture items - for larger items that cannot be easily transported, please send a picture of the item with your contact details (name, phone number, suburb) and a description (including dimensions) to Students will contact you directly to arrange pickup.

Please note that we are unable to accept donations of electrical goods, food, plants, clothing, toiletries, personal items or baby and children’s items.

Volunteers Needed

We are also seeking volunteers to help sort, clean and pack the donated items; and to assist at the Welcome Bazaar event. Any amount of time that you can volunteer would be greatly appreciated. Sorting, cleaning and packing will take place from 18 - 22 February on both campuses.
