TECH212 Textile Innovations

SCIT204 Science for Technologists
Teaching Organisation 5 hours per week for twelve weeks or equivalent of lectures, tutorials and workshops.

In this unit students will undertake an advanced study of the issues impacting on the contemporary Australian textile industry. In particular the roles of research and development and innovation in the textiles, clothing and footwear industries are examined. Developments in the properties and performance of modern textile materials will be critically analysed and factors in establishing Australian textile market niches will be investigated. Theoretical concepts will be supported by the execution of a major textiles project.
