PSYC634 Research Methods

Teaching Organisation 2 hours per week for twelve weeks or equivalent.

This unit is designed to extend the knowledge and skills in research methods that have been developed in undergraduate studies. The aim is to provide students with research and analytic skills to support their own research projects, as well as their later careers as psychologists. This unit will focus on a variety of methodological approaches to research based on the scientist-practitioner model of evidence based practice. Students will demonstrate competence in skills required for conducting empirical research and for evaluating the effectiveness of interventions in clinical and in educational and developmental psychology. The unit will prepare students to undertake independent research using a range of research designs and methods.
