PSYC312 Individual Differences and Assessment

Prerequisites PSYC100 Psychology A and PSYC101 Psychology B
Teaching Organisation 3 contact hours per week over 12 weeks or equivalent.

This unit seeks to develop understanding of individual tendencies displayed by people in their patterns of thoughts, feelings and behaviours over time and across situations. The unit will focus on the major theories of personality and how various personality constructs are measured. In addition it develops awareness of psychometric, conceptual, practical and ethical issues relevant to applying psychological theory to the task of measuring individual differences. The unit provides students with a critical approach to a range of methods employed in test construction and the measurement of individual differences.
