Teaching Organisation 150 hours of focused learning.

Understanding the nervous system is important in order for physiotherapy students to comprehend normal human movement as well as neural diseases, sensori-motor and cognitive impairments, and neural recovery and rehabilitation. This unit contributes to students’ learning about the anatomy of the nervous system, normal function and diseases that commonly affect the nervous system causing dysfunction, and the physiotherapy management of individuals with dysfunctions. Students will have the opportunity to develop an understanding of how the nervous system receives and interprets sensory information, controls movement and behaviour, and performs intellectual functions to guide physiotherapy practice.
